
Debbie Mergner is an associate at Hoffman Koenig Hering PLLC. Raised in Greensboro, North Carolina, Debbie is focused on helping others in the community with a variety of legal needs. Debbie currently practices family law, employment law, business litigation, and insurance defense.
Debbie graduated with a B.A. degree in English literature with a minor in Business Administration from High Point University. Debbie graduated with a J.D. in 2.5 years from Elon University School of Law. At Elon Law, Debbie was an active member of the Moot Court Board and the Pro Bono Board.
On the Pro Bono Board, Debbie served two years as Student Coordinator of the Lawyer on the Line project through Legal Aid of North Carolina. Debbie was recognized by Elon Law and the North Carolina Bar Association for her commitment to pro bono service for completing over 75 hours of pro bono service. Debbie was also awarded the North Carolina Student Pro Bono Award by the North Carolina State Bar.
In addition, Debbie was a student intern at the Guilford County District Attorney’s Office, and a non-profit law firm specializing in criminal law, family law, and estate matters.
In the community, Debbie currently serves on the Board of Directors of Seven Homes, Inc., a Greensboro-based foster care, and adoption agency. In her free time, Debbie enjoys playing board games and racquetball.
